Just published: our new paper on polystyrene upcycling!
Happy to share our latest work on polystyrene upcycling. In a nutshell, we chemically converted polystyrene recovered from Styrofoam food containers into organosulfur polymers that can be used to enhance surface wettability or kill bacterial and fungal pathogens on contact. These properties are made possible by pendent sulfoxide and sulfonium moieties, respectively. Read more: https://doi.org/10.1021/acsapm.6c00992
